Alcohol and the Bible – What does the Bible teach about drinking alcohol? Is it wise to be a moderate consumer? If we want to be led by the Holy Spirit, we will be happy to know what He says and fulfill His will.
Alcohol consumption and the Bible – Short talk by Shawn Boonstra
Just like those who eat unclean food, there is no salvation for those who consume alcohol. We must be conscientious to follow the narrow path. Its not so much a mater of good works that secure our salvation, but a sincere faith that, having been infilled with the Holy Spirit, seeks first the things of the kingdom. Read 1 Corinthians 6:10 “Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
You are right. We just have to follow, by faith, the footprints of Jesus Christ, our perfect model. This is true righteousness by faith, as Paul writes very clearly: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 I would just add that everybody will be judged according to the light he/she had. There will be in Heaven people who had not the light we have now about alcohol. May the Lord have mercy on all of us.
